Do I need to be good at art?
Not at all. Many people I work with haven’t picked up a paintbrush or pencil since school. Art therapy isn’t about making a pretty picture —it’s about expression, exploration and gaining insight and understanding.
How long will I need to come for?
This varies from person to person. Some people come for a few months, others longer-term. We’ll regularly check in about how things are going and what feels right for you.
What materials will I use?
You’ll have access to a range of materials like paints, pastels, pencils, clay, or collage. You can choose what you’re comfortable with, and there’s no pressure to make art every session.
Can I just talk if I want to?
Absolutely. Some people use art a lot, others not at all. I follow your lead and what feels helpful for you.
Is it confidential?
Yes—sessions are confidential. I’ll explain the limits of confidentiality clearly in our first meeting, including situations where I may need to share concerns to keep someone safe.
